State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang was developed based on noble ideals among Muslim academics and intellectuals to build and create a generation of Muslims who are truly able to convey the true image of Islam, which reflects the universality and significance of Islam in the midst of human life which is longing for physical and spiritual well-being, happiness in the world and the hereafter.
UIN Maliki Malang since its status as STAIN opened a Postgraduate Program at the Masters level (S-2), namely Masters in Islamic Studies in the 1999/2000 academic year. The opening of the program is based on the Decree of the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia No: 84 Th. 1999 concerning the Implementation of Postgraduate Study Programs (S-2). In 2005, UIN Maliki Malang obtained permission to open a Masters Study Program (S-2) Management of Islamic Education and Arabic Language Education with the Decree of the Director General of Islamic Religious Institutions Number: DJ.II/55/2005.
The study programs held by PPs UIN Maliki Malang to date include the Master Study Program consisting of 6 (six) Study Programs, namely: (1) Management of Islamic Education; (2) Arabic Language Education; (3) Study of Islamic Religion; (4) Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education; (5) Islamic Religious Education; (6) Akhwalusy Syakhsiyah; (7) Sharia Economics; (8) Mathematics Education; (9) Biology; (10) Psychology; and (11) Informatics. The Master of Biology Study Program at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University Malang which was organized by the Ministry of Religion was established based on the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education Number 402/KPT/I/2019. Based on the existing policies at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, the Biology Masters Study Program was placed at the Faculty of Graduate School. In 2020, the Biology Masters Study Program will be placed at the Faculty of Science and Technology based on the Decree of the Chancellor of the State Islamic University Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang No….. so that the Biology Masters study program is in the same place as the Biology Bachelor study program.
